 The story of womens struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights What is a woman A human creature A daughter a wife a mother Defined by men or standing on her own what does she want Sometimes I think I will never find the answer to this question. To take the journey of the average woman is to go from being someones daughter on to being someones wife and someones mother and grandmother and so on. Even her family name says nothing about her it is first her fathers and then her husbands. As she enters the new family she changes her being as well from a receiver to a giver - a giver of life. To me a woman is everything. She is sensitive and assertive she is beautiful and unique. She is Gods creation just like the man is and she should never be sat apart or excluded from anything that she wants to do. A woman is life and what does she want To do whatever she wants - it is as simple as that It is true to say that the idea about what is a woman is changing all the time but it is also important to state that those ideas are changing because women all over the world are making it happen It is a fact that the importance and indispensability of women cant be described in words as far as progress prosperity moral and mental enrichment of the people is concerned. A woman well groomed in moral ethos magnanimity pity sympathy compassion and other human values can create a haven of joy in a family in which she goes after her marriage. She being the nerve centre of a family can take it to the top in what the human beings aspire. But sadly such a side is absent. The woman is now commodified and treated as an object of consumerism only. We need to usher in an era where a woman is looked as an object of love respect and dignity and this all is possible if the mindsets get changed. It is not strange that our ancient values have greatly downgraded and are still downgrading. How they can be reversed and arrested is everybodys guess. Education alone cant do the miracles anticipated. I must point out that by painting I have learned new things about myself most of all that anything is possible. I can only say that I felt empowered by painting these emotions of a women and her relationship with the the world it made me realize that the change comes from within us and that we must share it with the world. ...
