 In this very competitive market of Pharmaceutical trading Muthu Group started with a humble beginning as a retail outlet named “Sangam Pharmacy” in the year 1970 at Perambur in Chennai. The promoter Mr E Gnanam had his eyes clearly focused into the future and ensured that this retail outlet served the customer in the best possible way. With Service being the motto this single retail outlet grew and has become Fifty as of now. The group is very positive that the numbers will keep on increasing and has ensured that the motto “Service” would not be compromised. With the established name in the field of retailing Muthu Group ventured into the second aspect of Pharmaceutical Trading namely Wholesale Distribution and at the moment has six such outlets. With a view to serve the Pharmaceutical Industry Hospitals and the general public Muthu Group ventured into opening 24 Hrs retail outlets at Purasawakkam Perambur and Egmore which proved to be a success. With their philanthropic nature Muthu Group has conducted more than 100 camps staring from way back as 1972 in different parts of Tamilnadu. Free consultation and distribution of medicines are being done in these camps as a result lakhs of people have benefited. Muthu Group’s only aim is that this facility should reach all over Tamilnadu especially to rural areas. Many doctors and prominent people from all walks of life have presided over these functions and wide publicity has been given to these camps in many leading newspapers. The achievements progress and phenomenal growth of Muthu Group have been published in Business India March 2004 issue which is a feather in their cap.
